The Lumin uses a strong UV light to kill 99% of bacteria, pathogens, and fungi present on items placed inside the device. UV light is a very effective disinfectant used in the health industry and hospitals.

Important Note: Multiple uses: The Lumin can also be used to disinfect other items as well, such as a toothbrush, dentures, hearing aids, anything that will fit into the tray on the device.

NOTE: “Disinfection by UVC depends on optics. FAQ's

Q.  How does one operate the 3B Lumin cleaning device?

A:  It is as simple as the click of a button.  Wipe down your CPAP mask to get rid of any residue buildup around the cushion (facial oils and skin cells can collect daily).  If you have a water chamber, empty the reservoir prior to placing it inside the Lumin.  Once your sleep equipment is ready to be sanitized:  Open the chamber and set your equipment in the drawer face-up.  Close the drawer and press the button. 

Q.  How often do I need to use the Lumin?

A:  The Lumin cycle time is 5 minutes.  3B recommends that you clean your sleep equipment two times a week.  As always, you should maintain a proper cleaning schedule for your CPAP accessories and follow the manufactures recommendations for the continued care of your products. 

Q.  Does Lumin use Ozone?

A: Lumin does not use ozone to clean.  It sanitizes through high-energy lamps placed all throughout the device creating UV light. 

Q.  Does the 3B Lumin cleaner cause an odor?

A:  If your equipment is not properly wiped down, the ultraviolet light can create an odor.  For example, household dust can sometimes have a smell similar to burnt hair.  Wipe down the device with a damp cloth or dry it with a paper towel.  Run a cycle with the drawer empty and let the machine sit overnight.  The following day there should be no odor. 

Q.  What does the Lumin disinfect?

A:  The 3B Lumin is designed to fit most CPAP masks and water chambers.   It will disinfect any item that can fit in its drawer.  You can also sanitize everyday household items like cellular phones, hairbrushes, etc. 

Q.  Do I need to purchase any supplies for the Lumin?

A:  No.  There are no replacement parts for the Lumin cleaner.  The UV bulbs are rated for 9,000 hours of use.
